Bluewater’s Success with Proactive COVID-19 Tracing.
The Dilemma
As Jeff Newell saw the stack of completed screening forms grow and grow on his desk, he knew it was time to improve how they managed their COVID-19 screening. Quickly the Municipality decided to implement an online screening tool that was more than a data collection form for the public but would also offer reporting, contact tracing, and instant alert notifications. With the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation this application would also need to be seamless to set up and easy to use for both staff and the public.
The Solution
Bluewater decided to use the COVID-19 Screening module within the RFAM solution that ORFA endorses and saw the benefits instantly. In one central location the management team can review and track everyone that has entered their facility, be notified instantly if someone entering a facility has a COVID-19 symptom and improve contact tracing by means of detailed reports. This tool enables staff to immediately identify and notify individuals who may have been in contact with COVID-19.
The Opinion
“The automated screening has worked well for the Municipality of Bluewater. Our workers log in every morning and they find it easy to use! Staff can log every municipal building they enter so that if something were to happen the municipality can perform accurate COVID-19 tracing and respond quickly and efficiently. The same goes for the people that rent our buildings, they log in fast and easy. In addition, they can go online and fill it out before they get to our facility, reducing congestion at the entrance points. RFAM’s COVID-19 screening makes it easy for whoever is working to check the tablet and know individuals have completed the screening. We are very happy with RFAM’s automated screening.” – Kevin Geoffrey (Facilities Supervisor)
The Process
Each municipality receives a custom QR Code and website for their screening form. In addition, the drop-downs are customized so people filling out the form can pick the exact facility they are entering. The system requires minimal setup/effort, and the module can be used almost instantaneously. Patron records are automatically stored in RFAM, so staff do not have to manage binders of paper or sift through pages when looking for a specific record, thereby drastically cutting staff time. Alert notifications can be sent out to anyone in the municipality. If the CAO wants to be notified of someone entering Town Hall with a symptom, you simply add their email to that specific facility’s notification list and RFAM will alert them immediately! This helps municipalities be proactive when it comes to not just facility management but rather community safety.
The Result
RFAM’s COVID-19 Screening module saves paper, improves staff efficiency and provides the municipality with peace of mind when making sure they are keeping the community safe and updated.
